Dr. Buckle pioneered a method of touch for the critically ill or fragile called the 'm' technique®. It is a registered method of touch suitable when the giver is not trained in massage. Simple to do and easy to learn, the 'm' technique® has been taught in universities, hospitals, hospices and long-term care facilities in the USA since 1999.

The 'm' courses started in the UK in summer 2004. Dr Buckle returned to the UK in 2005. She was Accreditation Chair for International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists 2006-2007 and elected to the steering committee for Complementary Therapies at the Royal College of Nursing 2006-2007. She works as a full-time academic at Thames Valley University, London.

Currently there are 12 certified M technique instructors in the UK.
